# HOW TO. Simple Rules for life

Our lives got a lot more complicated. We are expected to deliver more and in shorted time than before. At the same time life is also more expensive than it used to be. It is no longer enough for one person to work and provide for a whole family. The ECB estimated that in the United States, for those born in 1940s, 70% owned their home by age of 35. This figure dropped to about 50% for early "millennials" born in the 1980s. It is only scarry to think about what the rate will be for those born in 2000s.

Amongst the chaos of all of that I often find it comforting that there is still a way forward. Important thing to remember is that we can still achieve our goals if we only follow some simple rules. The six points of a successful person I consider to be effective.

  1. Learn - anything and everything. Be like a sponge and never be afraid to discover more. It will only be to your advantage.
  2. If you want to get things done - the simplest way is to just do them.
  3. Plan a lot, both short term and long term. Have a goal in mind.
  4. Go outside regularly - be close with the nature; see the sun, smell the trees, feel the rain.
  5. Have a positive mindset. This mindset can do wonders to your day and you will benefit more from it than anyone else.
  6. You are the master of your faith.

Point 1 - learn

I would still say "learning is single most impactful habit you can achieve". Every time I come to think about the moments I wish I have done things differently, it is not because I think to myself - "damn, it would have been better if I did not know that". Knowledge is power and will always be.

Point 2 - "just get things done".

The only real tool of "productivity" you will ever need is - "just do it" mode. There are many tricks and tips to help you get to that mode, but ultimately it all comes down to good, old-fashioned work.

Point 3 - plan

If you do not know where you are heading, you will never get there. Planning helps focus your attention on the important things and helps you differentiate between what is urgent now and what is important in the long term. It also helps you remember your mum's birthday, so you don't forget to buy her a gift ;-)

Point 4 - go outside.

Professor Andrew Huberman, neuroscientist and tenured professor at Stanford School of Medicine, has proposed a theory that getting early sun exposure, can significantly help with your sleep cycle.

Not to mention that being outside is also good for vitamin D product, can help reduce stress and anger, improves mental wellbeing and if you combine that with sports it can also improve your fitness.

Point 5 - positive mindset.

Mindset is like a lens that you use to see the world. If that lens is broken your view of the world will be skewed. Try to stay positive even if it is hard and you will see the difference in no time. It is hard work, but the benefits are worth it.

Point 6 - master of your faith

As you grow of age you will realise that to get what you want, you need to go and grab it. You are in control of your destiny and your faith any only you can change what steps you take.

Cheers

Until next time
